Description:
Come play sports with migrant school children!
The middle schoolers at Fenfa School are looking forward to learning to play games with the BEAN volunteers. Volunteers will come out and coach and encourage them in the sports activities led by our BEAN leaders. After the hour-long sports lesson and play time, volunteers will help the students learn English through helping them practice speaking and listening to oral English.
No experience or Chinese skills required! Come and be part of this great program!
BEAN is "adopting" the students who live at Fenfa School who are in need of ongoing enrichment programs and activities to supplement their academic course load. We are launching a series of programs to help support these students with much-needed attention and mentorship on the model of Big Brothers/Big Sisters. The BEAN Sports program is part of this initiative.
**Note: Please RSVP at beanshanghai@gmail.com if you'd like to attend this event! We have plenty of spaces, but we need to make sure we bring enough leaders to support our volunteers, so please let us know you're coming.**
To get to Fenfa School, take subway Line 1 to the last stop and transfer to Line 5. Get off at the Wenjing Lu Station and take exit 2. Walk straight for 7-8 minutes and make a left after the bridge onto Lincang Lu; there is no street sign, but it's the first left over the bridge. The instructions and overview of the program are at 1:45 and we begin teaching at 2:00. Please allow yourself ample time to arrive at the school on time- it takes about 80 minutes from the city center. If you have a get lost or have problems finding it, you can call Richard at 15802132087.
